Baby's Back, 3 Trader Joe's Essentials, Banana Pudding and My Favorite Fried Chicken in Indy and more
Hey there. How are you. I’m sitting here right now looking out the window at the bird and hummingbird feeders. If you’re feeling any stress (HELLO— hands raised everywhere), I highly recommend taking a few minutes to look at the birds outside. I guarantee you will feel a little bit of relaxation. Try it.
I’m not a fan of the intense heat. Who are these people who love sweltering temps? I don’t get it. Luckily, we’re in the midst of a few 80 degree days and I couldn’t be happier about it. I walked the dog at least 3 times each day. I drove with the windows down and turned up the music. I highly agree with what Claire says in the movie Elizabethtown, “Some music needs air. Roll down your window.”
It’s newsletter #29 and thanks for sticking with me. This space is a way for me to share some of my interests and recommendations. If you have something you want to read here, feel free to send me an email paulandpaulinenewsletter@gmail.com
I recently got together with one of my best friends from high school. We hadn’t seen each other in years and we grabbed dinner together. It’s funny how you can easily pick up with some friends. We sat outside and chatted about so many things and people. She’s visiting Montana with her family right now and probably seeing more than a few bears at Glacier National Park.
Speaking of bears, my cousin (who lives in New England) sent me a picture of a bear in her neighborhood. This bear is a regular in the neighborhood. Yikes. I think bears are beautiful, but I am more than a little wary of them especially after watching the documentary, Grizzly Man. The movie is seventeen years old and I still think about it. It’s beautiful and so disturbing. It’s a fantastic documentary, but I don’t necessarily recommend it, unless you want it keeping space in your head for seventeen years. Ha.
Here’s a few pictures of the bear hanging in my cousin’s neighborhood.
But, back to socializing with humans and not bears. I feel like time stopped during the pandemic and there are a handful of very good friends I need to see in person. We need to share a meal and catch up. Email/text isn’t the same. I plan to try to make up for it this summer.
In this issue I’m sharing some things I’m enjoying, like Jennifer Grey’s memoir, banana pudding and fried chicken. I’m not being compensated for anything of these recommendations. Whenever I am, I will share that with you.
Thanks for subscribing. It’s almost officially summer. A-
Flowers bring me so much joy. I don’t think they need to be expensive. Here’s a combo of stock (?) and mums. I picked these up at Trader Joe’s and it was around $8 for 2 bouquets. Can’t beat it.
I can’t pass up a memoir, remember? This one is funny, raw and insightful. She doesn’t hold back. Jennifer Grey puts herself out there. The good, very good, bad and ugly. She shares what it was like after a nose job made her unrecognizable to many. She didn’t work. There are a lot of reasons why. I always thought Jennifer Grey was so lovely— with her nose and all. *fyi- language/sexual scenarios.
