Goodbye, Sonny Corleone, 5 Inexpensive Ideas to Check Off Your Summer Bucket List, The Shorts You Have to Buy, Take Care of Hands and Feet, A Berry Farm for Locals
Hey. How are you? We’re at newsletter #31. Can you believe it? We’re cruising through July and I feel like doing a rain dance most days. Where is the rain? It doesn’t feel like a typical July.
I was sad to hear about James Caan’s death. The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2 are two of my all-time favorite movies. If they’re on TV, I have to watch them. I loved James Caan’s performance in The Godfather. I also enjoy Honeymoon in Vegas, which is a ridiculous screwball comedy, but the type of movie I need right now, when the news and life is a lot more stressful. Caan is wonderful in Misery, but the movie is still scary for me (I’m a wimp. Hand raised).
5 Inexpensive Ideas to Check Off Your Summer Bucket List
Here’s a peek at a story I wrote for Brownsburg Magazine. I hope you check it out. These are some ideas to enjoy summer and you don’t have to live in the Indy area to check these off your list.
The story is also in this month’s issue of Center Grove Magazine, Kokomo Magazine, The Lakes - East Magazine (Kosciusko County) and The Lakes - West Magazine (Culver).
Stuck on these Shorts
I mainly wear capri pants in the summer or a skirt if it’s hot outside. The weather here has been so hot (annoying) that I feel like shorts are in order. I purchased these shorts from Old Navy. They’re lightweight (polyester) and so cool to wear. They’re around $20. You’ll want to size down in these. They have large pockets in front- which I normally wouldn’t be crazy about, but they work. The pockets can easily fit a cell phone or small wallet/keys. These shorts hit me about an inch and a half to two inches above the knee. (They don’t hit near as short as the photo above— which is a tall model)
I purchased these in forest green. I usually pair them with a navy t-shirt or a black t-shirt. You can also dress these up if you need to. I plan to buy another pair. I’m sold.
And, don’t worry that your legs aren’t just right to wear shorts. Go for it. I’ve got pale skin (thanks to those English and Irish genes) and I’m wearing the shorts. Life’s too short- right?
