#34 Newsletter: 15 Ideas - How to Vacation at Home
Plus... Elvis' Best Song, A Kiddie Cocktail with Some Booze, It's Always Time for Chili
Hi. We’re halfway through August. If you’re new here, let me explain the name of this newsletter. My name is Aimée and the newsletter is Paul and Pauline. I know, it doesn’t really make sense. Hear me out.
Paul and Pauline were the witnesses at my parents’ courthouse wedding in Colorado. My parents needed witnesses for their wedding. Enter Paul and Pauline. My parents did not know them and never saw Paul and Pauline again. It’s been a running gag… “How do you think Paul and Pauline are doing?” and so on.
I thought it was a funny name for the newsletter and here were are. I want the newsletter to appeal to a variety of readers.
This week’s newsletter #34 is about taking a vacation at home. A staycation. I share a list of 15 ideas to have fun at home. I also chat about the best Elvis song. There’s no discussion or debate, it’s his best song.
Temperatures are cooling down around here and that means it’s time for chili. Let’s be honest, I can eat chili year round.

And, here we go!
Elvis
I am a proud Elvis Presley fan. I don’t watch his movies, but the music is amazing. He is one of my all-time favorite singers and I became a fan of his music when I was in my twenties.
I haven’t been to Graceland, but I do own an Elvis watch. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about Graceland, but I would still like to visit when I get to Memphis one of these days.
I highly recommend listening to this album.
The best Elvis Presley song is “Suspicious Minds.” It’s not up for debate.
A Kiddie Cocktail with Some Booze
I heard the “Dirty Shirley” is one of the most popular cocktails this summer. It’s your basic Shirley Temple recipe with some booze. (Recipe: grenadine syrup, lemon-lime soda and some vodka). Add a few cherries on top.
You can always leave out the vodka if you want to. But, why?
I do the research and hard work for you. Getting ready to take a sip.
